2020 INK DRAWING ON STRATHMORE 300 SERIES ILLUSTRATION BRISTOL WITH CUSTOM DESIGNED AND ASSEMBLED LASER ETCHED FRAME PRODUCED AT CULPRITRESEARCHPROJECT STUDIOS.
 
Created at the end of 2020, this rare Ink & Graphite piece titled ‘Contrast’ was created for the group show ‘Tapas’ curated by Ken Flewellyn at Thinkspace Gallery which opened on November 14th 2020.
 
This piece means a lot to me because it is the first fully finished piece that I created without my best friend B as he passed away during the summer of 2020. It was very difficult to create this piece as he was my sidekick in the creation of all my gallery pieces since 2003. 
 
'Contrast' is a depicted self portrait of the dark and light versions of myself which was put through the test during the pandemic of 2020 which personally was the roughest time of my life. The light and dark figures are set face to face in reflection of one another with the balance brought by the spiritual world depicted as messages that come from the spirit of my late best friend B shown through the illustrated pyramid and portal. 
 
This piece is a real piece of my heart that encapsulates my emotions during a time of grief, struggle and road to rebirth.
